On Friday Pickles back began to bother her. Fortunately it was not as painful as before, however she did not want to move and we could tell that she was not comfortable. Fortunately we were able to get her in for a recheck with Dr. John Hamil of Canyon Animal Hospital in Laguna Beach.
It turns out that our little girl is going to need 3 more weeks of crate rest. We have stocked up on Flossies and Bully Boys, but she is still not a happy camper. Pickles is so full of joy and loves life so much that this is really hard for her.
Dr. Hamil refilled her Metacam prescription so that should help to keep her pain free. The next 3 weeks are really important for her. If she does not get better, then she will need to go and see a neurologist. Pickles is happy that Dr. Hamil said that more massage is OK, however she is not so sure about his suggestion of acupuncture . . .
Once again, thanks to all of you who have shown concern for Pickles. We are on a journey to get Pickles well and are happy that you are with us.
And we must say CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Hamil and his wife Susan. Their Bloodhound Rita won Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club today.
